WBS is pleased to announce the addition of Mr. Kory Hunter (M.Div. ’06) to the WBS Board of Trustees. Kory brings a well-rounded perspective, passion, and energy with him, and the community is grateful for his willingness to serve in this capacity.
The addition of alumni to our board brings the faculty, staff, and administration of WBS great joy. It is an honor to see graduates return to invest in their alma mater in such a meaningful way. Join us in welcoming Kory to the team!
I was born and raised in Gillette, WY. I have had the fortunate privilege of having wonderful pastors and laypeople who have helped cultivate and develop my love for Christ and His Church. My wife is from Brookings, SD, and she has had a very similar experience of growing up in a Christ-centered family. Jenni’s grandparents were founding members of one of the largest churches in the Wesleyan denomination.
We have three wonderful kids: Josh, Sarah, and Anna. We are both graduates of Oklahoma Wesleyan University, and I am a graduate of Wesley Biblical Seminary. I view my time at Wesley as foundational for our lives. The time spent with faculty in small groups with Dr. Oswalt, Dr. Tashiro and Dr. Cockerill were times that I cherish to this day. What a unique opportunity to study Hebrew and Greek with the two editors of the Wesley Study Bible!
After Wesley, we worked in Gillette, WY for a year and then went on for pharmacy school at South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD. I was able to head up adult education for my first year in Brookings and then continued teaching at Gracepoint Wesleyan while going through pharmacy school. I am forever indebted to a school that taught me “ontology precedes praxis” and finished with “true ontology will always lead to praxis.”
