Biography
Dan's call to ministry has taken him into a variety of pastoral, academic, administrative and cross-cultural settings. As an ordained minister in The Wesleyan Church, he has pastored churches in Kansas, Missouri and Indiana; worked at the Wesleyan World Headquarters in Indianapolis; and served on the faculty and administration of Ohio Christian University. Dan and his wife, Joyce, were also appointed to service in England for several years where they provided leadership in the areas of theological education and church development.
Joyce currently works as a hospice bereavement counselor and also serves on the music staff of Wesley Chapel in Jackson. Dan and Joyce are the parents of two adult daughters.
Dr. Burnett first joined the faculty of Wesley Biblical Seminary in 2007 as Director of Library Services and Assistant Professor of Pastoral Ministry. He was appointed to the position of Vice-President for Academic Affairs in 2011. His publications include In the Shadow of Aldersgate: An Introduction to the Heritage and Faith of the Wesleyan Tradition, and various articles, Bible study lessons and devotional pieces.
