Biography
Dr. Rick Boyd was not brought up in church and did not begin a relationship with Jesus until he was thirty-one, in 1991. Born again through reading Genesis, he became devoted to the Bible. After spending his first two-and-a-half years studying the NIV while continuing his work as an engineer, he was called to seminary (Asbury Theological Seminary), and he and his wife Jodi (married in 1989) moved to Kentucky in answer to the call.
Following his MDiv, he was called to a radio ministry in Minnesota-Iowa where he served for eight years until being called back to doctoral work in 2005. Studying under Dr. David Bauer at Asbury, he received his Ph.D. in New Testament from London School of Theology in 2012 and began teaching as an adjunct while praying and searching for the next step in the call of the Lord.
He was hired by Wesley Biblical Seminary in the spring of 2014 and has participated in various regional and national meetings as part of the Evangelical Theological Society, the Institute for Biblical Research, and the Society of Biblical Literature. He is has been a member of the Editorial Board of The Journal of Inductive Biblical Studies since July, 2019.
Rick and Jodi moved to Jackson/Brandon, MS where they have served at WBS since 2014.
