Wesley Biblical Seminary is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) and licensed by the State of Mississippi to offer graduate biblical and theological education. But what does that mean for you?

Why attending an accredited seminary matters:

Integrity. Accreditation ensures credibility. (Learn how to protect yourself from degree mills here.).
Quality Assurance. Accreditation ensures that WBS is in compliance with high academic and professional standards.
Peer Review. The ATS Commission on Accreditation has nearly 270 member institutions who participate in peer evaluation and compliance.
Institutional Effectiveness. Accreditation with a credible organization like ATS means that a seminary has to demonstrate outcomes documenting its effectiveness.
Stewardship. Quality, compliance, and institutional effectiveness mean that you are spending your money wisely.
Transferring credits. Accreditation allows for credible analysis of transcripts and ease of transfer of credits between member institutions.

Also in regards to accreditation, we are sometimes asked why WBS requires that degree-seeking students possess an accredited bachelor’s degree.

Why an accredited bachelor’s degree matters:

Preparation. Graduate education builds upon the foundation of a credible bachelor’s degree.
Professionalism. A bachelor degree is essential academic preparation for professional graduate studies. Physicians attend medical school. Attorneys attend law school. Ministers attend seminary. Quality graduate education is essential preparation for the most noble calling, the care of the souls of the Church of Jesus Christ.
