Why think God? the atheist wants to know and rages,
Demanding we forswear our chattering on divinity.
Perhaps there are moments when we should, like sages,
Leave him to the silence of a ravaging infinity
Devoid of anything or anyone who takes notice.
They know things, but being truly known and loved
Sadly is a state unfathomable. Such is their ire
Against the thought of One who cannot be removed,
No matter how one rejects solace and desire,
Not noticing the void in our hearts is itself a question, Why?
