Generous Bequest to WBS from Margret Esther Kellogg

Wesley Biblical Seminary is honored to announce the receipt of a bequest from the estate of Margret Esther Kellogg, from Wenatchee, Washington.

Margret was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 31, 1925.  As a child, her family moved to Wenatchee, Washington. She graduated from the Chicago Evangelistic Institute (later Vennard College) and Seattle Pacific University. She later earned a Masters in Education from Western Michigan University.

Margret spent her early professional life in Christian evangelistic music ministry. Although she proficiently played various musical instruments, she excelled at the marimba. Later on, Margret spent time as a teacher in both Michigan and WashingtonMargret Kellogg. She and her business partner, Shirley Schick, also ran an apple and pear orchard.

Margret led her church choir and served as President of Entiat Holiness Association Camp Meeting. She also enjoyed recreational activities in the wilderness of the Northwest such as camping, hunting, fishing, and flying airplanes.

Margret also loved Wesley Biblical Seminary. Her bequest remembered WBS with an initial gift of $50,000. The seminary will utilize this generous gift to advance the mission of the seminary, educating Christian leaders in the authority of Scripture and transformational holiness.

Margret Esther Kellogg went home to be with Jesus on November 7, 2015. The entire seminary community would like to express gratitude for Margret’s commitment to Jesus Christ and her forethought to invest in Wesley Biblical Seminary.
