Biography

As Director of Research, Dr. O’Reilly provides leadership in Wesley’s Doctor of Ministry program. He also serves as Lead Pastor of Christ Church Birmingham in Alabama, a congregation in the Global Methodist Church. A Senior Fellow of the Center for Pastor Theologians, he is the author of Free to Be Holy: A Biblical Theology of Sanctification (Seedbed), Paul and the Resurrected Body: Social Identity and Ethical Practice (SBL), and editor of Reconstructing Methodism: Crucial Issues Facing the Global Methodist Church (Francis Asbury Press). His essays have appeared in Journal for the Study of Paul and his Letters, Journal of Biblical and Theological Studies, Center for Pastor Theologians Journal, and The Princeton Theological Review. Dr. O’Reilly is married to Naomi, and they have three children.
