David serves as Executive Vice President of the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) that accredits and serves approximately 200 member institutions representing some 50,000 students across North America. His specific responsibilities include leadership development programs and initiatives for institutional and student leadership development along with serving as the chief advancement officer for the organization.
For 19 years, David served as president of Kingswood University (formerly Bethany Bible College) in New Brunswick, Canada. During this time, the college experienced major growth and development including the largest enrollment anywhere of students preparing for ordained ministry in The Wesleyan Church. This service also included significant experience in fund raising and the creation of special programs for student leadership development through which he personally mentored high capacity, spiritually focused student leaders. David has also served on the Board of Directors for ABHE.
Prior to his work at Bethany Bible College, David worked in the denominational office of Evangelism and Church Growth for The Wesleyan Church following 11 years of local church ministry as pastor, youth pastor and church planter in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. He was ordained by The Wesleyan Church in 1980.
A native of Prattville, Alabama, David graduated from Southern Wesleyan University in 1972 and holds a M.Div. (1977) from Asbury Theological Seminary. He was honored by his alma mater, Southern Wesleyan, with the Doctor of Divinity degree in 1991. He and his wife, Anne, live in Orlando, Florida and have three adult children, Caleb (1978), Andrew (1981), and Nathan (1983), and eight grandchildren.”
