For the Summer 2016 Extended Edition of the WBS Compass, we interviewed Samuel Bolen (MDiv ’13) about his ministry.
I serve as the local missions pastor and young adult pastor at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Madison, Mississippi. As Local Missions Pastor, my passion is to see Christians in my suburban community connect across racial, geographical, and socioeconomic lines with their neighbors in nearby communities for the sake of demonstrating the witness of God’s love and the good news of Jesus Christ. We do this primarily through involving the congregation in partnerships with nonprofits in the Jackson metro area.
As Young Adult Pastor, it is my joy to assist young couples in connecting with a Christ-centered community, where they can be discipled. We do this through small groups called “Life Groups” at our church. Through the shepherding of Life Groups and Life Group Leaders, we believe the church will maintain healthy and growing relationships with Jesus and others. My wife, Hallie, and I have been married five years and have two boys, Steele and Hudson. We take great joy in the opportunity God has given us to shepherd young couples, as well as lead our church community in connecting with local ministry opportunities throughout the Jackson metro area.
