Wesley Biblical Seminary Announces $4,170,000 Capital Campaign
Jan. 11th Open House Will Celebrate Over $3.1 Million Raised in Campaign to Date
Ridgeland, MS – In 2024, Wesley Biblical Seminary is celebrating its 50th anniversary, the perfect timing for the seminary to launch its first-ever capital campaign, Steadfast. The campaign kicked off in October of 2022 and has since raised more than $3,184,000 in gifts and pledges.
As an independent, multi-denominational seminary, WBS has seen enrollment grow significantly through the emergence of the Global Methodist Church (GMC) out of the United Methodist Church. WBS is the first institution of theological education approved by the GMC, making this Mississippi-based seminary one of the fastest-growing in the nation.
The primary focus of the Steadfast Campaign is to make seminary education affordable for all. Students who might not otherwise have been able to pursue their calling into Christian ministry have already benefitted through scholarships provided through the campaign.
Long term, campaign gifts will help WBS establish an Endowed Scholarship Fund and an Endowed Faculty Chair. Endowed funds are invested so that they earn interest and continue to grow and give year after year.
“Donors to the Steadfast Campaign are investing in the next generation of faithful church leaders. These pastors in turn lead their churches to do good in their neighborhoods. When you give to Wesley Biblical Seminary, you are making a difference in communities across the nation and around the world.”
76% of the campaign’s $4.17 million goal has been pledged by leading donors. The general public is now invited to help the campaign finish strong.
WBS will celebrate this milestone with an Open House at their campus on January 11, 2024 from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. All are invited to join WBS to celebrate its golden anniversary and the progress of the Steadfast Campaign. Hors d’oeuvres will be served.
The seminary is located at 1880 E. County Line Rd. in Ridgeland. Donations to the Steadfast Campaign can be made at wbs.edu/steadfast.
