Wesley Biblical Seminary has finalized the purchase of a new campus. The new facility is located in Ridgeland, Miss., just five miles from the seminary’s current location. The 9,000-square-foot building, situated on 2.5 acres, will house the WBS administration, faculty, and staff–as well as classrooms designed for on-campus and online students.

“Our new campus will be safe and accessible for our students, and will allow us to operate more efficiently in a location that increases the seminary’s visibility in the Jackson-metro area,” President John E. Neihof said. “This new site will provide WBS with the space and resources to handcraft shepherds and theologians for Christ’s church.”

The new campus will support the seminary as it serves a growing local, national, and international student body. This fall, WBS enrolled 120 students, the largest enrollment for the seminary since 2011. The WBS student body includes students from 17 states and 13 nations. Both on-campus and online students can enroll in a variety of on-campus classes, online classes, and real-time video classes.

“The new campus will help us to expand our reach while remaining rooted in the Jackson-metro area,” said Dr. Chris Lohrstorfer, vice president of academic affairs. “We are excited to see how God continues to grow our vision for what he will do through Wesley Biblical Seminary.”

Across the last 11 months, generous supporters have contributed more than $700,000 towards the relocation campaign. Only $150,000 is still needed in order for WBS to complete the relocation debt free.

Seminary operations will remain in the current location until the end of the spring. An official dedication for the new campus will occur on May 3, during the 2019 commencement weekend.
